Welcoming Big Gil and His Funky All Stars to Taste
This Friday, Taste is planning on taking the people of Trotwood to a whole new level of funk! Big Gil and His Funky All Stars will be joining us on April 6th to show off their talents and get your feet moving. As it says on his website:
“Big Gil’s Blues & His Funky Allstars brings a toe tapping, raw mixture of blues and ole school funk to every venue. Performing hits from the 50′s thru 2003, Big Gil captures the crowd with his electrifying personality, powerful vocals and when he blows his trombone, it’s a soul stirring musical event.”
We are pleased to have Big Gil and his band this Friday, and we hope that you will join us to see for yourself why he’s got us so pumped up! The live music starts at 10 PM, so don’t be late!
City of Trotwood Featured Leader – Jason Thomas!
Every day we hear from satisfied customers that like to tell us how thrilled they are to have a place like Taste right in their hometown to enjoy, and it is always an honor to listen to them say these things. This week, though, Taste’s own Jason Thomas (one of our owners) was featured by the City of Trotwood itself as an outstanding leader in the community, and for that we are equally excited!
You can head to the City of Trotwood website right now to read what they have to say for yourself. And as always, we thank the community tremendously for your continued support!

Great food Served with a Side of Gospel Music
Taste started serving brunch shortly after opening it’s doors for business. As the social media overseer I continued to encounter the question, “Why doesn’t Taste have gospel music on Sundays?” So the Taste management team got together and concurred that gospel and brunch indeed go together…like our Chicken & Waffle dish.
We are excited…pleased….and blessed to announce that starting with the 1st Sunday in March we will be introducing our very first Gospel Brunch. Not only are we going to offer one of the best brunch menu’s in town but we are going to serve it with a side of some of the most joyful, timeless gospel songs ever written.

The host of our very first Gospel Brunch is none other than, Dayton’s own, Grammy nominated, national recording artist Tonya Baker.
An anointed psalmist, gifted songwriter and a blessing to the Body of Christ – this young lady has reached the nations with her gift of song. As a vocalist, this young lady is a much sought after psalmist who ministers the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ across the country. (more…)
Valentine’s Day: Dinner for Two at Taste
This Saturday (the 11th) and next Tuesday (the 14th), we’re bringing a special treat for our loving couples out there. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we’ve prepared a special menu just for those couples who are planning to celebrate with us.
While our live jazz band keeps the music going in the background, each of the three entrees that will be accompanied by a delicious shrimp cocktail appetizer, our house salad tossed in our very own Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing, and of course a delicious Valentine’s Day special dessert, as well as a glass of one of our house wines.
Taste Restaurant… Love at First Visit

From the dimly lit dining area to the mellow sounds of jazz being played from the live band on the small stage in the corner, Taste is a beautiful gem waiting to be discovered. (more…)
